The Horace A. Moses Legacy Breakfast
On April 13, 2012 The Log Cabin Banquet Hall hosted JA for The 1st Annual Horace A. Moses Legacy Breakfast. Current Board Members, Staff, and JA Alumni invited members of the community to join us in celebrating what Junior Achievement is all about, bringing financial literacy programs to our classrooms and Empowering Young People to their own Economic Success. St. Thomas the Apostle students that participate in JA programs acted as hosts for the morning, showing guests to their tables and mingling with the crowd.
Scott Cohen acted as our Master of Ceremonies, with JA Alumnus Pierre Joseph, a student at Amherst College, as Special Guest Speaker. Aracelis Espinal, JA Alumnus and student at Johnson & Wales and Mychal Connolly, JA Alumnus and owner of Stinky Cakes, both presented their JA Success Story. Jennifer Connolly, President of JA Western MA spoke of her time as a JA student, President, and the benefits of JA in our community. Finally, Harry Gilligan, Interim Board Chair spoke of how the community can continue to help JA teach our children to be financially literate.
Non-Profit organizations like Junior Achievement count on contributions and volunteers from the community to continue operations. JA reaches over 10,000 kids in Springfield and surrounding communities each year, but we cannot do it without your help.
