October 20 is National Youth Confidence Day, a recognition we at Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts can get behind not only once a year, but every day. Our programs and events all teach workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on learning—all of which will give students the confidence and skills they need to succeed in their chosen career path.
We believe in the boundless potential of the young people in our communities. Together with the incredible support of our sponsors and volunteers, we inspire and empower students to believe in themselves, and show them that they can make a difference in the community and the world.
Inspiring Youth Confidence
From programs for children in grades K through 12, through year-round interactive events, students can engage with professionals in high-demand industries throughout our region, explore career paths, learn to manage their personal finances, and even start their own business.
For example, our popular annual Stock Market Competition, coming up on November 14, serves to inspire future financial leaders with a high-tech stock market simulation in which high school teams compete to build the highest portfolio net worth. And our Teen Reality Fair lets students experience the realities of personal budgeting while they apply their “salary” toward things like housing, education and training, transportation, entertainment, food, retirement and other life expenses.
Join the Celebration
There are lots of ways you can celebrate National Youth Confidence Day! Consider volunteering, whether for a single event or once a week for a semester. We have a range of fun opportunities for individuals and businesses, and no experience is required. Or help us by donating so we can reach even more students—the success of the next generation is worth the investment!
